Wartungstag für Mensch, Kleidung und Maschine / Maintenance day for humans, wardrobe and machines

Heute ist offiziell Ruhetag, aber das heißt natürlich keinesfalls Müßiggang. Mensch, Kleidung und Maschine sind entweder erst gar nicht optimal gestartet (ich), zeigen erste Ermüdungserscheinungen (Auto) oder müssen einfach mal gewaschen werden (Kleidung).

Ich habe keinerlei Ohrenschmerzen mehr, das Trommelfell ist auch wieder zu (merkt man daran, dass es beim Niesen nicht mehr flattert ;-), höre auch schon wieder viel besser, aber es fühlt sich immer noch wie voll Wasser an und ich höre noch nicht optimal. Meine Internetrecherche hatte ergeben, dass es sich dabei vermutlich um einen Paukenerguss im Zuge der Mittelohrentzündung handelt und dieser sich in der Regel mit der Zeit von selbst bessert, aber es auch Komplikationen geben kann. Deshalb wollte ich das checken lassen. Alla hat wie immer alles perfekt organisiert. Mit dem Auto geht es zu einer HNO-Spezialpraxis. Auf Hygiene wird schon am Eingang geachtet: Alle müssen Überschuhe anziehen. Die Praxis ist modern und funktionell eingerichtet. Mindestens mal deutsches Niveau. Der Behandlungsraum ist top-modern. Technik aus Deutschland. Das verströmt wirklich Vertrauen.

Meine Vermutung bestätigt sich nach einer endoskopischen Untersuchung in Ohr und Nase. Zwei Optionen: Trommelfell erneut öffnen und absaugen oder konventionell durch Verdünnung des Schleims und Abfluss durch die Nase – jeder kann sich denken welche Option ich gewählt habe. Mal schauen, ob es besser wird. Sonst muss ich in Nowosibirsk noch einmal zu einem Arzt.

Auch das Auto braucht ein wenig Pflege. Der Motor schnurrt zwar nach meiner Meinung fast besser als sonst, aber wir haben uns einen Steinschlag in der Scheibe eingefangen. Nichts dramatisches, aber bevor das zu einem Scheibenriss führt, wird es repariert. Natürlich hat Alla wieder alles perfekt organisiert. Der Handwerker kommt Punkt 18 Uhr mit kleinem Werkzeugkoffer ins Hotel, klebt, drückt, bestrahlt und poliert 15 Minuten, bekommt 1000 Rubel und die Bruchgefahr ist gebannt. Muß ich jetzt nicht jeden Tag haben, aber gut zu wissen, dass es problemlos behebbar ist.

Last but not least die Kleiderreinigung. Kurz nach der gestrigen Ankunft strömten drei Teams mit übervollen Kleidungsbeuteln zur Rezeption. Am Abend scherzten wir noch, dass wir vermutlich morgen alles falsch zurückbekommen und dann der große Kleidungstausch los geht – und so war es dann auch. Ein Riesenchaos zwischen Team 1 und 2. In der Lobby wurde dann die Unterwäsche auseinanderklamüsert (ja, so sagen wir das im Pott). Aber letztlich fand sich alles wieder.

Ach ja: nebenbei haben wir uns auch noch Jekaterinburg angeschaut. Es gibt eine rote Linie auf dem Bürgersteig, die den ortsunkunkundigen Tourist an allen wesentlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten vorbeiführt – sehr praktisch. So sahen wir nicht nur die in Erinnerung an die Erschießung der Zarenfamilie errichtete “Kathedrale auf dem Blut” oder das Rathaus, sondern auch das ein oder andere nette Viertel.

Today is officially a rest day, but that does not mean leisure and idleness. Humans, machines and wardrobe either did not start in perfect condition (me), show some dents (car) or need a cleaning (wardrobe).

I have no more ear pain, the ear drum is also closed  again (it does not flutter when I sneeze ;-)) and I can hear much better than a couple of days before, but I still had the feeling that the ear sits full of liquid and hearing was not as good as on the other side. My internet research showed that the reason is most likely that the middle ear is full of secretion from the infection which cannot leave the ear because the ear drum is closed (see above). It is likely to dispear over the next days, but it can also cause complications. That’s the reason I wanted to see a doctor to check it. Again Alla’s logistic was perfect. With the car to the ENT clinic. All patients had to wear overshoes to ensure hygiene. The clinic looked modern and functional. At least German standard. The treatment room is up-to-date. Technic from Germany (always good ;-). The complete surrounding emitted trust.

My assumption is confirmed by the endoscopic examination. Two options: Open the ear drum again and suctioning the liquid out of the middle ear or thin down the liquid and let it drain off the nose over the next couple of days – you certainly know which option I took. Let us see how it works and worst case I have another doctor’s appointment in Novosibirsk.

The car needs also maintenance. While the engine is running smoother than ever before, our windscreen received  a dent. Nothing serious but we do not want to risk that the windscreen cracks. And again Alla organized everything perfectly. The repair guy was on the very minute in the hotel, glued and polish for 15 minutes our windscreen, received 1000 roubles and the threat of a broken windscreen was banned for now. I do not need this procedure every evening, but good to know that it can be handled that way.

Last but not least the cleaning of our wardrobe. Shortly after the teams arrived at the hotel yesterday evening, at least three teams brought huge bags with wardrobe to the reception and requested a cleaning. At the dinner we joked that we have to swap our garment next day – and it became true. Total chaos between team 1 and 2. We opened a big bazaar in the lobby and tried to assign dozens of pieces, mostly underwear and socks to the right team. At the end everything was at its right place. All went well.

By the way: beside all the maintenance work we also visited Yekaterinburg. Therefore we followed the red line on the street which leads the lost tourist through all the highlights of the inner city – very comfortable. This way we did not only see the Cathedral on the Blood, built in rememberance of the killing of the Czar and his family, and the big Town Hall but also some nice quarters.
