Heute war der erste Tag, der in etwa meiner Erwartung vom sibirischen Teil der Reise am Nächsten kommt: Nicht nur endlose Wälder, sondern auch kaum noch menschliche Behausungen und Infrastruktur an der Straße. Selbst die Tankstellen dünnen aus. Die Motorradfahrer waren schon auf Reserve, d.h. über zweihundert Kilometer ohne Tankstelle (die sehr obskuren Angebote nicht mitgerechnet).
Tulun ist eine Kleinstadt mit ca. 40.000 Einwohnern. Es gibt viele kleinere Geschäfte für den täglichen Bedarf, nur die Hauptstrassen sind befestigt, TripAdvisor führt 2 Hotels. Im Besseren wohnen wir. Die Zimmer sind farbenfroh eingerichtet, alles erinnert mich irgendwie an den Stil meiner Großeltern. Im Restaurant gibt es ein Menü aus Vorspeise, Suppe und Hauptgang – alles scheint frisch zubereitet zu sein. Aber selbst hier gibt es nur Importbier. Wieder keine Chance einmal russisches Bier zu probieren.
Neben einer gewissen Entspannung im EURO 6-Abenteuer (Update hier), gibt es jetzt leider auch bei den Motorradfahrern Probleme durch schlechten Sprit (Dreck und Wasser). Wir sind bisher zum Glück nicht betroffen. Der Dicke läuft immer noch wie ein Uhrwerk.
Ach ja: Heute wurde das letzte Mal auf der Reise die Uhr um eine Stunde vorgestellt. Wir sind jetzt in CST (MEST+6, UTC+8) angekommen.
Today was the first day which matches my expectations about the Siberian part of the journey: Not only endless forrest, but also rare sightings of human habitation and infrastructure at the road. Even the fuel station are thinning out. The bikers needed to switch to reserve, which means at least 200 kilometers with no fuel station (some obscure offers not considered ).
Tulun is a small village with about 40.000 inhabitants. A lot of small shops for the daily consumer needs, only the main roads are tarred, Trip Advisor lists two hotels. We stay in the better one. The rooms are colorful and the style reminds me somehow on my grand parents furnishing. The restaurant serves a dinner with starter, soup and main course – everything seems to be prepared a la minute. But even here they unfortunately do only server import beer. Again no chance to try a Russian beer.
While the EURO 6 adventure seems to ease a little bit (update here), the bikers have problems resulting from dirt and water in the fuel. So far we are not affected by poor fuel quality. The Fat One is running like a clockwork.
By the way: Today was the last day that we had to move the time an hour forward. We are now in CST (MEST+6, UTC+8).
